Hair growth can either be hereditary or genetic. It can also be caused by hormonal changes or a medical condition. Whichever way, if hair on these mentioned parts becomes too long, too coarse or too frizzy, it tends to become quite undesirable.

Hair removal options for women have evolved, and it can now offer women various options to choose from, starting from the trusted method of waxing, tweezing, and shaving, to the more long-term and expensive ones such as electrolysis and laser hair removal. With these types of hair removal for women, she can now choose a method that best suits her needs, budget and preference.

Waxing

Wax hair treatments have been used for many centuries and have evolved over time. Today, it can be done in a spa or salon, or you can readily buy available pre-packed home waxing kits. Just be mindful that you do it in a hygienic environment.

You apply the cream, and then cover it with a cloth strip. When the wax settles, remove the strip. Wax, which is usually soy-based, is made to stick to your hair and not to your skin. This makes itĀ  remove all the hair, including the roots, bulb, and shaft, when you rip the cloth off.

Waxing makes your follicle open and susceptible to infection. Make sure that after waxing you apply an antibacterial cream or lotion to prevent this.

Make sure you use a Fresh, Sharp Razor

Shaving

This is the most common and easiest method in hair removal. This is the best method for women who are always on the go. However, its effects are only temporary, for it does not affect the root or the follicle. Its effects can only last for a day or two.

Before shaving, make sure that the hair is thoroughly wet. Apply a cream and use a good razor for shaving. Shave into the direction in which the hair grows and avoid repeating strokes.

Tweezers

Tweezing

When you think about facial hair removal for women, most would instantly think of tweezers. Tweezing is the best at-home method to use to remove single hairs from the upper lip, eyebrows and chin. Tweezing does not, however, affect the follicle. It only helps remove the root. It is best used for small areas of the face.

Depilatories

Depilatories are substances used to remove hair from the body. It takes the hair just a little bit longer to grow back, compared to the results of shaving. It also leaves the hair a rounder and smoother tip.

Epilator

Epilators

An epilator is a mechanical device used to pull hair out of the roots simultaneously. It has a similar effect to waxing, and it is painful to some, because hairs are pulled out from the roots.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is amongĀ  the most popular new hair removal techniques used. The beam from the laser goes down the shaft and destroys the root of the hair. It can be used to remove large areas of hair.

According to dermatologist David Goldberg, MD, director of Skin and Laser Surgery of New York and New Jersey, the hair does not come off immediately when using the laser method. It slowly weakens and destroys the root, until hair can no longer grow.

Laser hair removal can be done all over the body, and the best candidates for this method are those who have dark hair and white skin. Those who have dark skin may acquire unwanted hyper pigmentation, burning and scarring.

Those who have dark skins can use the laser, Nd:YAG, which is safer for them, while those who have blonde hairs can choose electrolysis, rather than laser hair removal, for it is more effective to them.

Electrolysis

Electrolysis is a method wherein hair is removed permanently. When you are looking for a permanent hair removal solution, electrolysis is your best and only choice. It uses an extremely small needle to destroy cells that are responsible for hair growth. Hair falls out and never grows back.

It is safe to use electrolysis all over the body, but the tiny needles will leave small scars. However, they will heal over time. This method may also cause hyper pigmentation when it is used on those who have dark skins. While it is safe to use over the body, it is best used for smaller areas, because the method is rather painful.

Women of yesterday and today have thrived to maintain their flawless skins over the years. Various techniques and methods of hair removal for women have come out to suit their needs. These hair removal methods have enabled women to become more confident, with their unwanted hairs no longer in the picture. Which methods best suits your needs?
